Peintre de paysages, marines, natures mortes, fleurs et fruits, aquarelliste.

 

Il fut élève de Antoine Vollon et Gustave Marius Julien. En 1874, il débuta au Salon de Paris, 1882 mention honorable, 1885 médaille de troisième classe, 1886 médaille de deuxième classe, 1889 médaille d'argent pour l'Exposition Universelle et sociétaire du Salon des Artistes Français fondé depuis 1881, 1889 Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur, 1923 officier, 1930 membre du jury et du comité, hors concours et prix Bonnat.

Il fut surtout peintre de la côte et des ports de la Méditerranée, mais peignit aussi à Venise.
