Né en 1953 à Phnom-Pen (Cambodge). XX-XXIe siècles.

Après des études à l'Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts de Phnom-Penh qu'il intègre à l'âge de 12 ans, il vient en 1972 compléter sa formation en France
grâce notamment à une bourse d'étude obtenue du gouvernement. Le destin a voulu qu'il adopte la France comme terre d'accueil, c'est là donc qu'il y a poursuivi ses recherches d'abord à Château Noir puis à Puyloubier où il vit et travaille, au pied de la montagne Sainte Victoire.

Son oeuvre porte la marque profonde d'une spiritualité opérant un syncrétisme entre pensée d'Orient et d'Occident, philosophes et artistes, le Tao et Nietzsche, les lettrés chinois et l'école des peintres catalans. Pour s'exprimer, il utilise divers supports (toile, carton, bois, papier-japon) et outils (main,
pied, pinceau, spatule, racloir) et joue avec les matières (plâtre, acrylique, huile, encre d'or, encre de Chine, collages).

Sama a commencé à exposer en Provence dès les années 1980, notamment lors de deux importantes expositions à la Fondation Vasarely d'Aix en Provence et au musée Vasarely de Gordes en 1992 et 1993 qui lui ont permis de faire connaître ses oeuvres auprès d'un large public. Il est présent dans de nombreuses galeries situées en France et à l'étranger notamment en Belgique, en Suisse, aux Etats-Unis et en Suède.

After studying at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Phnom Penh, he joined at the age of 12, he finishes his education in France in 1972, because of a governmental study grant. He adopts France as his home, and continues his research, first in Château Noir then in Puyloubier where he lives and works near Ste-Victoire mountain.

His work bears the mark of a deep spirituality operating a syncretism between Eastern and Western culture, philosophers and artists, from Tao to Nietzsche, Chinese intellectual to Catalan painters. To express himself, he uses several medias (canvas, cardboard , wood, Japan paper) and tools (hand, foot, brush, spatula, scraper) and plays with materials (plaster, acrylic, oil, gold ink, Chinese ink, collage).

Sama began exhibiting in Provence in the 1980s, especially in two major exhibitions at the Vasarely Foundation in Aix en Provence and Gordes Vasarely Museum in 1992 and 1993 that allowed him to showcase his work to a wide audience. He exhibites in many galleries located in France and abroad including Belgium, Switzerland, USA and Sweden.
